Philip Harris Hydraulic Press

The Hydraulic Press demonstrates the transmissibility of fluid pressure and shows how mechanical advantage may be obtained using interconnected cylinders of different diameters.

Based upon graduated glass syringes having capacities of 10 ml and 50 ml and a cross-sectional area of 3 to 1, pistons are provided with loading platform 90mm in diameter.

Graduated syringe barrels also permit simple Boyle’s law experiments to be carried out.
