Internal Resistance Board

Comparisons can be made between AA and D cells – internal resistance and maximum current.

It is hoped that students will see patterns – smaller resistors result in smaller terminal voltage and larger circuit currents.

Your ammeter should be connected between point X and the top of the resistor and your voltmeter across the resistor.

The voltage is measured across six low value 2.5 W resistors. Supplied with batteries.
