Children at this stage will be able to respond to tension in a story, justify prediction by referring back to the start, begin to find meanings beyond literal and read ahead to determine direction in meaning. Children will also be able to pause appropriately in response to punctuation and/or meaning. Please note that titles may vary due to availability; should a title become unavailable, a suitable substitute will be made.
